GOVERNOR GODWIN OBASEKI WIN EDO STATE ELECTION
The
incumbent Governor of Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki won the election of Edo
State under the platform of People Democratic Party and was declared winner by
the commission responsible for conducting election in the country that is (INEC)
Independent Electoral Commission.
The
result which was announced by the chief returning officer of the commission (Independent
Electoral Commission) of the State, stated that the incumbent Governor Godwin
Obaseki won the election by 307,955 vote compare to his rival Osagie Izeiyamu
of the (APC) All progressive Congress with 223,619 vote.
The
Edo state Governor, Governor Godwin Obaseki who first became the Governor under
the APC with the help of Mr. Adam Oshiomhole and became alienated with Adam
Oshiomhole that resulted in epic political battle in the state, which made the
present Governor to leave the party (APC) to the party that he is now People
Democratic Party (PDP ).
