Last Sunday, a sizable group of businesspeople and members of the media were given a tour of the refinery by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group. About the engineering marvel, a great deal has been written and said. Eze Anaba, the president of the Guild of Editors, merely called it "monstrous." I questioned, "Must a refinery be this big?" as I drew near to him. With a smile, he declared, "It's the biggest in the world." It's never been done before. The Dangote Petroleum Refinery Project is one of our several efforts to assist the Federal Government's transformation program.
