"All the indices that track human growth, most of all poverty, illiteracy, health and security of life and property, tend to situate the North at the deep end of the trough,” stated the Arewa Consultative Forum, or ACF, indicating that the North is still very much a work in progress. The forum said that the planned nationwide protest against weak governance was untimely and ineffective, and as a result, it disassociated itself from it. Speaking yesterday during a meeting with Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, ACF Chairman Mamman Osuman stated: "With regard to the planned national protest, the ACF National President said the Forum is not a party to it and will not support it as it is ill-timed and counterproductive."
