General Ibrahim Babangida, the former president of the military, has distanced himself from a tweet that suggested he favored military dictatorship over democratic governance. General Babangida reaffirmed his commitment to democratic rather than military government in a statement issued from his media office in Minna, which was signed by Mahmud Abdullahi. As a result, he called on all Nigerians to not only support democracy but also ensure its success.
